11-05-2010 Update:
Your Bank Fees May be Going Higher.
The FDIC is implementing a fee proposal relating to the Chris Dodd (D) and Barney Frank (D) financial reform law passed July 2010 (Source: Bloomberg). The likely result of higher operating costs to banks under new government regulation is that low cost and free bank services may not be free anymore, may require higher minimum balances or depositors can see an increase of bank fees for various bank products or services. About 35 major chartered banks are being included in this government fee proposal (Source: Bloomberg).
