The FDIC seized seven more banks on Friday July 23, 2010, making it 17 failed banks in the month of July alone. So far July is the most failed banks in 2010 since the FDIC closed 22 banks in April. Interestingly enough, Thunder Bank of Kansas struck down with the distinction of being the 100th bank failure of 2010.
All of the bank assets were transferred/ acquired by other banks with FDIC financial support.
The Obama Administration has said that there will be an end to bailouts, yet the government continues to bailout banks every week.
